The District recently authorized the replacement of the pedestrian bridges along the hike and bike trails. Design and construction of this project will take approximately 22 months, with the project anticipated to open for public use in Q1 2028.
The District’s contractor will be onsite February 9-12 to complete soil borings near both existing pedestrian bridges. These borings are necessary to support the design of the new bridges and to ensure long-term safety and accessibility for the community.
For everyone’s safety, both pedestrian bridges and the adjacent portions of the trail shown below will be CLOSED February 9-12, including evenings. While work will not be done on the trail at this time, crews will use the trail to move equipment to/from the boring sites throughout the operation.
We appreciate your patience as we take these important steps toward replacing both bridges and improving long-term community safety and accessibility. For your safety, please do not attempt to enter closed areas and obey all posted warning signs and barriers.
The Board understands how important these bridges are to the Bilma community and is committed to completing the work as quickly and safely as possible.
